Too Noisy

Today, I was subbing for a couple teachers who were away at track and field so I was kind of all over the place. Covering in one class, the teacher warned me that the students have been very noisy lately. While they were working on their art project, I quietly put this app on and set it on the board. At first it was bad because the kids thought it was funny. By the end they named the face Jefferey (Jeff), and made a point system for staying quiet. I could believe how well this worked! Listening to students say things like "Don't make Jeff cry!" (when it's too noisy he cries) and "Shh.. Keep Jeff happy!" It was amazing to sit back and watch them work it out themselves to find a volume to keep quiet.
