Ms. Cynthie Gaetz

As I'm sure you've probably guessed; I am Cynthie Gaetz, a passionate and adaptable educator. After a few temporary contracts I started subbing so I could get a feel for various grades and subjects while I went back to school. This was the best thing I could have done at that point in my teaching career. I have subbed in every grade from pre-K to grade 12! Could I pick a favourite? nope. Although, home ec and math will forever be my favourite subjects and they can be taught to any grade. Have you ever baked muffins with a three year old? It is a blast! Messy, but still a blast. Since I strongly believe in life long learning, I also chose to go back to school to start toward a master degree.

All of this was put on hold to start the best and most rewarding role of my life, motherhood. I spent a year on maternity leave learning more than ever and loving every second of it! I was then fortunate enough to become a part of the amazing St. Dominic School Community. The love and support I have received while working at this school allowed me to pursue so many of my classroom dreams.

When I'm not in my classroom, I am spending time with my wonderful family and friends or pursuing one of m many hobbies. I love working with anything where I get to be creative, such as renovations, gardening, sewing, or upholstery.  I also love to get active outside all year long.
